I have been hearing this question often from people I speak with about my SEO services.

The answer to this question is always the same. “There is no way to determine in advance how many clients you will get from hiring me for SEO services.  However, I know with certainty that I will get your website to rank higher in the search results. Plus, you will get reports to prove it.  Your higher ranking will translate into more calls and Contact Form inquiries to your business.”

Whether it be from improving your search engine rankings or driving traffic from Social Media posts, it is important to examine how your business engages with those incoming requests.

Online Marketing Lead Generation Sources

Let’s explore the two main funnels for online marketing lead generation:

Contact Form Inquiries:

Let’s face it—some people are shy and prefer to go on your website and fill out the Contact Form.  Do you have a procedure in place to monitor that email box every day?  Is there a qualified person in charge at your company who has a procedure in place to manage this workflow?  For instance, if you are a building contractor and you receive a Contact Form inquiry, how do you respond?   Do you send them a brochure, try to set up a phone call, Webex, or schedule an in-person meeting?

Telephone Inquiries:

I cannot emphasize enough that the person who answers your company’s telephone can make or break the sale. Too often, companies delegate this responsibility to the lowest paid employee who  does not have the experience to skillfully answer questions about your products or services. This person may lose the confidence of the prospect before the lead even gets to the person who handles sales.  For this reason, I recommend that you consider assigning the phone number listed on your website to go directly to your sales department.

Tracking Incoming Leads:
